Sunday Egede

Mr Sunday Egede was born in Agbor Delta State on 25 May 1969.

While on vacation, when he was in School, he paid a visit to his Elder brother who sold provisions at the time with hs shop in Lagos.

During the period he stayed with him, he developed interest in the business and made up his mind not to seek paid employment when he is through with his education.

After a period of training where he understudied his brother, he was given some grant to set up a provision store inside Isolo Market in 1991.

Through dint of hard work, innovativeness and financial discipline with total dependence on God, the shop grew and he was able to establish De Prince Supermarket Gbagada as well as De Prince Supermarket Magodo.

It was equally through these outlets that some very successful retail outlet owners were trained which include ; Ebeano Supermarket, Blenco  Supermarket, Blossom Supermarket,  Danny’s Supermarket, Chapter one Supermarket and a host of others too numerous to mention.

In the year  2009, he formed a partnership with his nephew, David Ojei, to form Prince Ebeano & Company, owners of Prince Ebeano chain of supermarket which at the moment is Nigeria’s fastest growing indigenous supermarket chain.

He believes so much in God Almighty as his source and always makes himself available for God to use him to touch lives.

Sunday spots business opportunities where none exists, His organisational ability and belief in orderliness and excellence are reflecting in all his outlets.

He is a committed Christian and is happily married  to Mrs Joy Egede and they have 4 children.

One of his Managers that have known him for over 20 years said that Sunday took delight in seeing people succeed and was always willing to offer advice and assistance where necessary.

“This is one of the reasons we have a host of successful retail shop owners that grew under his watch.”

Together with his Partner, they are providing employment to over 600 individuals in their different business outlets.

David Chukwuma Ojei

David Chukwuma Ojei was born on 28 February 1971 in Agbor Delta State Nigeria. He graduated with BSc. Accountancy Second Class Upper Division from the University of Nigeria in 1995.

He did his Mandatory NYSC in Jigawa state in 1995/96 Batch.

After he failed aptitude test to join the following Banks; Zenith Bank, GTB and FBN Merchant Bankers, he took up employment with a security company where he was paid a monthly income of N7000 from which he was able to make some savings to set up a barber’s shop that was equally fetching an income of N7000 monthly.

He resigned from his job in June 1998 when his Mother had a need of N100,000 and his sister, a school dropout who is into trading, brought her own contribution of N50,000 immediately and himself, with his Degree, could not meet up.

David took a decision then to go into trading while the Barber’s shop was still fetching him some income.

He closed his Barber’s shop, much more later after he started his Supermarket business.

His first line of business after resignation from The Security Company was to travel from Lagos to Fuga in Edo State to buy Ogbono seeds and resell in Lagos. However, the business stopped when his supplier in Fuga made away with his Money.

After the loss of his capital in the Ogbono business, he went to understudy his uncle, Sunday Egede, who was already trading on provisions for a period of 3 months before he set up his first shop in 1999 in Shomolu, Lagos State.

It was a shop of about 4-square-metre, which was the average size of a shop in Alade Market Shomolu back then.

Ten months later he opened a bigger shop of 12 to 15-square-metre in size.

The second shop was located at 3, Anifowoshe Street, Shomolu. He started trading with the name Ebeano Supermarket at the new location.

The shop grew rapidly and he opened a bigger shop in Gbagada.

Soon after, he opened his breakthrough Ebeano Supermaket Ikota, VGC, Lagos that brought so much innovation in retail business in Lekki axis of Lagos.

In 2009, he formed a partnership with his uncle, Sunday Egede, on a 50-50 basis to form the now popular Prince Ebeano Supermarket chain of retail stores – “THE PREFERRED ONE STOP RETAIL STORE”

David is very creative and his business model is now being copied by even the multinational retail stores in Lagos.

He is always thinking of new ideas to introduce to his line of business and God has been faithfully in giving him those innovations.

One of his Managers has this to say about David. “David values integrity so much that he will call off transactions if integrity is breached irrespective of the cost implication”.

He is a devout Christian and is happily married with 4 Children.

He has his trust in God that raised him from nothing and is committed to giving back to the society.

Together with his Partner they are providing employment to over 600 individuals in their different business outlets.
